This Year's Model Updates:

Although the Toyota Camry sedan is all-new this year, the 2007 Toyota Camry Solara remains largely unchanged mechanically. However, there are a few notable changes. The front and rear of the car have been restyled and LED taillamps and optional HID xenon headlights have been added. Inside, the car gets a new MP3 CD and satellite radio-capable stereo plus the expected auxiliary jack for connecting hand-held digital music players. Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity is new for 2007, as is voice activation for the optional navigation system. More safety features are also standard equipment this year, including a tire-pressure monitor, front side airbags and, for the coupe, side-curtain airbags. Engine power ratings have been revised due to new testing procedures, but actual performance is unaffected. Finally, the Solara Sport trim (previously called the SE Sport) gets an exclusive wheel design and is newly available on the convertible body style.

Pros:
  • Excellent build quality, smooth V6, reasonably priced considering its luxury.
Cons:
  • Lackluster styling, no manual transmission available on V6 models.

  • Almost Perfect - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara

My Toyota Solara V6 SLE coupe is a joy to drive with the exception of several rattles and squeaks in the interior. I have tried to attribute these rattles to a particular item, but cannot. They are intermittent and they change. I am disappointed that this otherwise flawless vehicle sounds a bit junky at times with only 6500 miles on it. What will it be like 3 or 4 years from now?

Did two test drives. Took delivery only 3 days ago. Didnt think I would trade my 2001 Mustang convertible for anything other than a mustang GT, but I did. Solara convertible is great compared to mustang GT if you dont mind 90 hp less and better than the Pontiac G6 which gives 0 trunk space with top down. Solara has just about everything including a gps option and automatic/clutchless manual shifting (very fun). Watch the backing with the boot on - you lose almost all rear view visibility with the high boot unless you are very tall and put the seat in a high position. Have already reported this safety problem to Toyota. Would not have been a deal breaker, but maybe better discount.

  • The Best Toyota I Have Ever Owned - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara

I get about 20-22 MPG on the road. I installed the back up beeping sound to alert me if anything is in my path. The car has been great!! I love driving it. I have been a Toyota driver for years. This particular Solara has a Lexus look and feel.

  • Great Car, Summer Fun - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara

I think Toyota is making a huge mistake in discontinuing this model. I was in a rear-end collision and had I been in a two seater, I shudder to think of where I would be now. the car is well built and ultimately protected me so that not only did I walk away, I returned to work later, when I stopped shaking. I suffered whiplash and Im still dealing with that. The dealership did a fabulous job in returning the car to its original condition and you cant even tell it was in an accident.

  • Love my Solara Convertible - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara

I love the car. Very fun to drive. The top goes up and down easy and fast. One negative is that the passenger seat is not automatically adjustable and is not as comfortable. I did not notice this when I bought it. Gas mileage is about 17 miles to the gallon. The car handles well but sometimes going around a corner fast it seems to lose grip on the road a little. I would buy this car again. Looks great and seats 4 adults easy.

Have had the car for about a month, so far love it! We have always been Chevy/Buick fans but my husband got tired of constantly working on them, we decided to give Toyota a try (time will tell if weve made the right choice).I went from a small SUV and was worried that going back to a car the ride would feel low, it doesnt. I love the look of the Solara, the pearl finish, so far I pretty much love everything about the car. Smooth ride, descent gas mileage (average around 29, country driving), the classy cream leather interior, the navigation system and blue-tooth. Feel like a spoiled princess driving this car, feels like Im driving a Lexus.

I purchased this car in lieu of the 4 dr Camry, its so much sportier. Great handling. The trunk is HUGE for a coupe so Ive got lots of room for shopping bags. The turning radius is awesome and it just glides over bumps in the road. The V6 has lots of power for get up and go. A must for Atlanta traffic!

  • Sport Convertible - 2007 Toyota Camry Solara

This is my 2nd Solara and I love it! The vehicle is not a "sports" car, not good for those who want the (unnecessary) acceleration and zip of other sport cars. This is more of a cruising/touring vehicle. Feels like a hot knife through butter on the road, velvety ride, smooth handling. Handles very luxuriously and the sport trim adds a little more pizzaz with the interior carbon trim (as opposed to woodgrain), sport pedals and ground effect. Very quiet on the road, top up or down. Bluetooth is impressive even with the top down on the interstate - conversations are easy.

I have been waiting to buy this car for two years and I am not disappointed at all. It is everything I hoped it would be. I love driving my new car!
